In short. To furnish a dining room for under €100 per chair, three families cover most of the market: the Scandinavian chair with a polypropylene shell (from €34.90), the industrial steel chair (from €47.60) and the upholstered chair in fabric, velvet or bouclé (€59.90 to €84.90). At Deko District, the 10 models below cost between €34.90 and €84.90 each, with 3 to 23 colours in stock. For daily use with children, choose a PP shell or powder-coated steel, which wipe clean. For comfort during long meals, choose an upholstered seat.

Scandinavian chair: the cheapest and easiest to live with

The moulded-shell Scandinavian chair is the most affordable entry point. Two models stand out:
- Denisse (from €34.90): polypropylene shell, faux leather cushion and solid wood legs. The product page describes it for dining rooms, living rooms or a covered terrace. 16 colours are in stock, from white to fuchsia
- Nordika (from €39.90): matte PP shell, solid beech legs joined by a black steel frame. It also works as an occasional desk chair. 15 colours are available with light legs, and a dark-leg version exists at the same price
Best for: families, first flats, open kitchens. A PP shell does not mind sauce stains and cleans with a sponge. With armrests: Dominic (from €47.90), in 13 colours, for more support at the head of the table.
Industrial metal chair: the most hard-wearing

- Stylix (from €47.60): all steel, it weighs 5 kg and supports 150 kg according to its product page. The gloss powder-coated finish resists scratches and four rubber pads protect the floor. It has the widest colour range, with 23 shades in stock
- Stylix metal and light wood (from €64.22): same silhouette, with a light wood seat that warms up the look
Best for: kitchens, lofts and heavy use. For a terrace, the square version (from €51.32, 26 colours) is listed for indoor and outdoor use. The same design exists as a bar stool: see our bar stool height guide.
Acapulco chair: retro, indoors and out
Acapulco (from €49.90) revives a 1950s silhouette: a steel frame and an oval seat of hand-woven PP cords. The flexible seat follows the body, and the chair works indoors as well as on a terrace. 5 colours are available with white legs, and a black-leg version exists from €52.80. Upholstered chair: fabric, velvet or bouclé for comfort

An upholstered seat makes all the difference for long dinners. Three materials dominate:
- fabric, with Evelyne (from €59.90): solid metal legs and soft fabric upholstery, in 15 colours. Velvet, bouclé and patchwork versions exist from €54.90 to €64.90
- velvet, with Elias (from €69.30): velvet and a brass base for a retro look, in 3 colours
- bouclé, with Seda (from €81.90): bouclé fabric on a black metal frame (4 colours) or champagne frame (4 colours, €84.90). Its product page also targets hotels and restaurants
Bouclé and velvet need more care than PP: regular vacuuming and quick spot cleaning. For a dining room with young children, the faux leather of Denisse or the Tulip chair is simpler.
Swivel Tulip chair: the design icon under €85

The swivel Tulip chair (from €84.90) combines a PP shell, a painted steel pedestal and a faux leather cushion on foam. It swivels, which makes access around a round table easier. Good to know, as stated on its product page: once assembled, it cannot be taken apart. 5 colours are available.
